The Impact: Pure excitement at the opening of the new Digital Experience Center

The curtain came down on July 17, 2023: The expanded Digital Experience Center (DEX) celebrated its opening on the site of the F80 location in Erlangen. Under the name "The Impact", it represents a large Digital Industries showcase with various partners and presents visitors with a variety of interactive showcases over an area of approx. 3000 m². It offers a unique opportunity to learn about the diverse solutions in the interplay between the digital and real worlds and to immerse oneself in the "Digital Enterprise".

"The Impact" integrates all future technologies of the Digital Industry, including power electronics, sustainability, the industrial metaverse as well as additive manufacturing. The focus is on the topic of "Digital Enterprise". The aim is to make this directly tangible. It is central that applications and uses are experienced live on site by visitors, including the interaction of the individual process steps with real interfaces. Visitors will also be shown an example of how a product is created using a Digital Twin. Both the development in the digital world and the manufacturing process in the real environment are shown. Another special feature is the integration of live data from the Equipment plant Erlangen (GWE). In the area of the "Industrial Metaverse", a look into the future will be taken. Here, the first productive use cases will be used to show how automation and industrial manufacturing can reach a new level on the basis of digital twins and AI technology - for a sustainable future. Through these various examples, visitors will be introduced to practical manufacturing solutions and future prospects.

From the first of August 2023, immersive tours are available for booking at “The Impact”. Various tours will be offered, from Digital Enterprise overview tours to industry-specific deep-dive tours. In addition to tours for visitors, there will also be workshops as well as training and test rooms for Machine Tool Systems (MTS).
