Starting signal for the next expansion: One and a half years after the opening of the Siemens Campus Erlangen, Siemens laid the foundation stone for Module 8 at the site. Together with the Bavarian State Minister of the Interior Joachim Herrmann, Mayor Florian Janik and other guests of honor, Siemens CEO Ralf P. Thomas, Digital Industries CFO Rudolf Basson and Siemens Real Estate CEO Jörg Vocke filled the time capsule for the foundation stone of the 80,000 square meter site. With the official laying of the foundation stone for Module 8, the Siemens Campus Erlangen celebrated the next stage of its expansion.
“With the new Module 8, what belongs together grows together,” said Ralf Thomas, CFO of Siemens AG and spokesman for the company for the Nuremberg metropolitan region, on the occasion of the laying of the foundation stone. “With this laying of the foundation stone, we are also celebrating the next stage of the expansion of the site and, with Module 8, we are on the home stretch of bringing Siemens together in the region. The inventions and projects that are being worked on here in the Nuremberg metropolitan region will continue to travel around the world in the future – I am convinced of that!”
Cedrik Neike, Member of the Board of Management of Siemens AG and CEO of Digital Industries: “The Siemens Campus provides impetus for automation and digitalization. Talents from the entire metropolitan region will, for example, further develop industrial AI and the metaverse in order to implement our vision of a sustainable CO-neutral industry.”
